Ist es Glück oder Fluch? Für mich… eindeutig Glück!

Wie bei der Musik, hatte ich auch bei der Fotografie die Chance, mein Hobby zum Beruf zu machen. Wie so soft, spielte der Zufall auch hier eine große Rolle. Während meiner Zeit als Trompeter bei der Musical Produktion „Bodyguard“ in Köln, gewann ich einen Preis mit einem Foto, welches ich beim „Bergsteiger“ Magazin eingesendet hatte. Ich hatte schon nicht mehr damit gerechnet, bekam ich einen Anruf von Wolfgang Ehn, der mich zu den „Bergsteiger Fototagen“ einlud.

Jetzt kommt die Sache mit dem Zufall: Im Theater bekam man Wind davon und der damalige Dirigent, Jeff Frohner stellte mir die Frage: „Im Haus gibt es ein Fotoshooting, soll ich mal fragen, ob du auch fotografieren darfst?“ Ich war gleich Feuer und Flamme und kurze Zeit später, war ich der Second Shooter neben Johan Persson, einem Londoner Westend Fotografe. Womit ich nicht gerechnet hatte, die Firma BB-Promotion kaufte mir nach dem Shooting alle meine Fotos ab. So begann meine berufliche „Karriere“ als Fotograf.
